Kimberley’s Fast-Track to Employment

We know that the job searching process can be filled with many ups and downs. But sometimes there are days when things just go right! This was the case with participant Kimberley who came by the AimBig office in Mackay, Queensland. 

After experiencing a short time of unemployment, Kimberley was keen to get back into the workforce. Kimberley attended her initial (onboarding) appointment with AimBig, and with the assistance of her job coach, developed goals and an action plan on how to support her with her return to employment. 

By the afternoon of that same day, Kimberley was contacted by AimBig’s Business Development team to see if she was interested in an interview with one of our valued employers, ‘Anything Environmental’. 

The next day, Kimberley attended a group interview at Anything Environmental and was taken on a tour of the workplace. It was there that she felt a connection and was drawn to understanding the process. During the tour, one of the supervisors at Anything Environmental explained how it all worked and what their future goals were as a company.  

The supervisor was incredibly supportive and understanding, providing answers to all the questions ensuring everyone felt comfortable and at ease. And like clockwork, the same afternoon Kimberley was offered the job and received her roster for the following week! 

The whole process at Anything Environmental has been incredibly smooth for Kimberley. The team have ensured that Kimberley was made to feel welcome, introducing her to everyone on the team including the managers and supervisors.  They continued the onboarding process by ensuring she was clear on what her role and tasks would include and were there to guide her through her first day. 

The AimBig team supported Kimberley during this process by remaining in contact every step of the way, including assisting her to get the correct personal protective equipment to ensure everything went smoothly. 

Kimberley has said that the whole experience has been incredibly rewarding and has made it so easy for her to get back into work. She is very excited about the future and seeing where this job takes her. The transition into this new role has been such a seamless process and Kimberley has stated that she couldn’t have done it without the support of AimBig and the help from the lovely crew at Anything Environmental.
