JobClub

Looking to gain the skills and experience you need to find work that you’re suited to in the shortest possible time? JobClub may be for you! JobClub is our guided job seeking skills and job-finding program, you’ll work with a group of like-minded individuals receiving intensive coaching on job search related skills. Through the power of collaboration and peer tutoring, you’ll be job ready and in the workplace in no time.

The program aims to:

  • Draw on social supports and group dynamics to shorten the gap to job fulfilment.
  • Support group members to find a suitable job through a “learn by doing” approach, applying best practice job seeking techniques.
  • Engage participants in a new and interactive way to spark motivation to find employment.
  • Strengthen necessary skillsets to work in harmony with others towards a sustainable employment outcome.

How it works

The program is a hybrid of coaching and modules designed to prepare participants to become job ready.

Step 1 – Develop Objectives and Plan

After signing up to JobClub, you will interview with your Job Coach to understand Program Objectives, know your job goals and return to work strategy. Your job coach will outline the roles and responsibilities of both the facilitator and yourself.

You will then move on to modules and coaching.

Step 2 – Participate in Modules and Coaching

5 module-based coaching sessions that model best practice job seeking behaviours, up to 2 hours each (available in e-learning or face-to-face):

  1. Resume and Cover Letter development
  2. Selection Criteria
  3. Job Applications, Networking and Canvassing
  4. Injury, Illness and Disability Disclosure
  5. Interview Skills

Step 3 – Program Closure and Goal Review

At the completion of the program, you will engage in a wrap up meeting with your Job Coach to discuss outcomes against objectives. You'll also be asked to complete two evaluation tools.

Once the review is completed, your job plan will be updated to consider the next steps to achieve positive employment outcomes.
