Rockingham Job Coaches Deliver First Class Resume Workshop at Jobs Fair

Last Wednesday we were fortunate to attend the Rockingham Jobs Fair held at the Gary Holland Community Centre, which saw hundreds of job seekers come through in search for their next opportunity. Above and beyond venturing around the stalls hosted by local employers and businesses, attendees were able to participate in live demonstrations and workshops to support their quests in finding employment.

At the AimBig Employment stall, our Job Coaches Ebony and Charmaine hosted a Resume Workshop for the attendees. In this seminar, they looked at:

  • What is a resume?
  • Best resume format, layout and what to include.
  • Presenting your best self via social media
  • Answering interview questions via the STAR method
  • Cover letters
  • Transferrable skills

Hosting workshops allows our employment experts share their knowledge with job seekers looking for direction, as well as putting the AimBig Employment name out there as disability employment specialists.

We spoke to Ebony about her time at the expo running the resume workshop.

“I am passionate about helping unemployed people from every background. To secure meaningful employment that will change theirs and their families lives for the better.

The resume workshop was a great space for open communication and to help people get a step closer to finding a job they love. I loved speaking to people from a variety of backgrounds to support them in getting their foot in the door”.

We loved our time spent at the Rockingham Jobs Fair and look forward to attending next year.

Reach out to AimBig Employment if you are looking for assistance with any of the above topics and our friendly team can support you.
