Virtual Support with AimBig Online Job Club
For many jobseekers, it’s challenging knowing how to best market yourself to employers.
Even more so during a pandemic, when access to physical locations is restricted or when an individual lives in a remote or regional area or if someone has limited mobility. AimBig Employment has recognised that this is a barrier for people looking for employment and has designed an Online Job Club as a resource for job seekers.
AimBig’s Online Job Club provides tools that help kickstart your job search effectively by giving you skills to apply and interview for jobs with confidence. Looking for a job can be challenging, especially when you’re not sure where to start. By enrolling in these modules, you can learn how to tailor your job search to where your interests and skills are. This will help you to get the best results with your next role.
We know how frustrating job hunting can be and so we’ve tried to simplify it for you. By completing these sessions, you’ll be setting yourself up to be ready for your next job. There will be lots of like-minded people in the workshops for you to share your thoughts and learn from for your future roles.
The Online Job Club is intended to become a series of modules provided to jobseekers that will be run throughout the year. So, if you miss these sessions, you can sign up for the next release once they are confirmed.
Running over the coming months, included in the modules are sessions across the essentials of job searching:
Module 1: Know what you want and can offer
Everyone has something special to offer. However before looking for a job, you need to know what it is you’re looking for and what skills you have that would be useful for that role.
Module 2: What do employers want?
Understanding what your employer will be looking for is very important when applying for a position. It also helps to ensure you are saying what they want to hear so you can win them over.
Module 3: Cover letters
A cover letter is your potential future employer’s first impression of you, so how can you ensure you make it a good one? It speaks for you in writing, and we’ll show you some tips & tricks on how to make your cover letter stand out from the rest.
Module 4: Resumes & interviews
Creating your resume so that it shows the best version of you is a valuable skill. Ensuring that the consistency of how you are formatting your words clearly and succinctly can make all the difference.
Practicing interview techniques and responses can give you more chances to sell yourself to your potential employer or recruiter and to see how the job fits you. We’ll provide you with tips and ideas to prepare and answer any future interview questions.
