Tianna’s Turning Challenges into Purpose
Tianna’s story is a powerful example of courage and determination. At just 19 years old, Tianna has already faced significant challenges, including anxiety and bullying, which led her to leave school before completing her education. Despite these setbacks, Tianna has found a new sense of purpose, thanks to the support of AimBig Employment and her dedicated job coach, Tracey, from the Aitkenvale office.
During their first few appointments, Tianna was unsure of her future direction. The idea of further studies initially brought up feelings of hesitation and anxiety, given her difficult school experiences. However, Tracey encouraged Tianna to explore her options, presenting her with the course guide from Alffie Education. Although uncertain at first, Tianna took the guide home and carefully considered her options.
The following week, Tianna returned to AimBig with newfound enthusiasm. She had decided to pursue a Certificate III in Education Support. Despite her past experiences, Tianna expressed a strong desire to help children who might be going through similar challenges. Her determination to make a difference in the lives of others was both inspiring and commendable.
Tracey and Tianna’s mother both questioned whether this path was the right fit, given Tianna’s history. However, Tianna’s response was clear and resolute: “When I have completed my certificate and go to work to support children, if they have had a similar experience to mine, I can make that better for them and show them ways to succeed. This is the reason I really want to do this.”
Tianna’s decision to embark on this journey was not without its challenges. She also faces learning difficulties, which made school an unenjoyable experience for her in the past. However, with Tracey’s continued support and regular check-ins, Tianna has been making steady progress in her studies. As of today, she has completed 14% of her course, a significant achievement given her circumstances.
While Tianna is not currently working, her focus on her studies through Alffie Education is setting the foundation for a meaningful and fulfilling career in Education Support. She is determined to use her experiences to help others, turning her challenges into a driving force for positive change.
Tianna’s journey is a testament to the power of resilience and the importance of having a strong support system. With Tracey and the team at AimBig Employment by her side, Tianna is taking charge of her life and making strides toward a brighter future.
