The Dalby Community Have Mastered Their Barista Skills
The Dalby office recently hosted a Barista Course that brewed up something truly special. Over five intensive days, ten job-ready participants engaged in a comprehensive learning experience, acquiring valuable skills that will enhance their resumes.
The course covered five essential areas: food handling (both theoretical and practical), Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA), the art of sandwich making, mastering coffee-making techniques, and the importance of teamwork. Participants worked together to create a supportive environment that was as warm and inviting as the coffee they crafted.
Feedback from the participants has been overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing deep appreciation for this unique opportunity—especially in a rural area where such chances are rare. In addition to new skills, lasting friendships were also formed during the course.
Employers were invited to sample the impressive coffee creations, and the results have been promising, with four potential employment placements emerging from the experience. The success of this course has sparked interest for future sessions, ensuring that more opportunities like this will be on the horizon.
The Dalby office’s commitment to providing practical, hands-on training has made a tangible impact, not just on the participants, but on the community as well. The skills learned during the Barista Course extend beyond the coffee machine, equipping participants with the confidence and experience needed to thrive in the workforce.
This initiative is an example of the power of local training programs in fostering employability, especially in rural areas where opportunities can be limited.
Here’s to many more successful brews in the future!
