Meet the A Team – Lesh

In our latest of our staff series, we’ll be introducing you to some of the lovely staff that work at AimBig Employment. Within this article, we’ll introduce you to Lesh, our Head of Growth and Strategic Relationships based in Brisbane, QLD. Everyone, meet Lesh! 

Why did you choose to work in Employment Services?

I love the fact that we serve people to their version of success.

What does a day in the life of your role look like?

A long black to start the day, ideally in at least 1 site per day to meet the hard working talent within our amazing business. Then meetings, with Employers, Government, Community Groups, Peak Bodies, Disability service providers, support network and then lots and lots of TEAM meetings with our amazing Arriba family from all over the country. I will talk inclusive practices with anyone who will listen (my coffee guy knows all my lines). My mission each day is to serve our business to a broader platform and clear the way that each human we serve has greater opportunities for economic independence today than the day prior.

Can you recall a time when you helped a participant?

During the INAS held in Brisbane in 2019 I had the privilege of leading out the Inclusion awareness platform the over 150 volunteers. Working in collaboration with People with Disabilities and lived experiences, subject matter experts in inclusive design/modifications, Allied Health, Engineering, and Brisbane City Council leadership it was such a humbling opportunity to connect and engage with such broad thinking. Meeting some of the athlete’s afterwards I have too many stories of pride, self worth and family accolade to share now. But one young man shared with me that his father watched him play basketball for the first time in National coulours and patted him on the back…that was the first time he felt that his Dad had seen him. It still makes me pause when I reflect upon his facial expression, pride, bewilderment and joy all come to mind. That is why you get up and make one more call, or answer one more e-mail, for those stories you will never know about but they are there.

What do you love about your role?

I have the privilege to engage with equally passionate people whom love to change lives and do that intentionally.

What is a fun fact about yourself that people may not know?

I am a JEDI in secret.
