Meet the A Team – Claire
In our latest of our staff series, we’ll be introducing you to some of our superb staff at AimBig Employment. Within this article, we’ll introduce you to Claire, one of our fantastic Customer Experience Team Leaders in the Adelaide, South Australia. Everyone, meet Claire!
Why did you choose to work in Employment Services?
I had worked in Financial Planning for nearly 20 years and decided it was time to ‘try something new’ and having met people over the years with various disabilities I decided it was time for me to also help make a difference and help people get back into the workforce or become work ready. I learnt very quickly that not all disabilities are visual.
What does a day in the life of your role look like?
A day in the life of a CETL, that is a tough one as no day is ever the same. I have an absolute amazing team that support me and are predominately the first person our participants will speak with over the phone, but for me I am in constant contact with AB employees assisting them in purchasing items for work, or training, assisting the participants with collecting their items, Work Force Australia purchasing and answering and assisting many, Claire how do I .. calls and emails. No day is boring and I am enjoying wearing my several hats.
Can you recall a time when you helped a participant?
A JC had advised a participant had successfully gained employment after a long time of unemployment and required some business attire. The ppt was not comfortable in busy shopping centres due to anxiety, so the JC and I worked together and once at the store the JC and ppt found the clothing required and we arranged for the items to be purchased there and then so they didn’t have to go back for a click and collect. Team work.
What is a fun fact about yourself that people may not know?
I collect flour sifters and salt and pepper shakers. People are always a little bit intrigued, but some of the flour sifters are worth more than $20.
