Celebrating International Day of People with Disability
International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) is a United Nations (UN) observed day recognised on 3 December each year. IDPwD aims to raise awareness, understanding and acceptance of the 4.4 million people with disability in Australia. At AimBig Employment, we break down barriers to employment and foster a culture of inclusivity to ensure that people with disability have sustainable employment opportunities.
Our drive revolves around a commitment to our participants, recognising each individual’s unique journey and challenges. Our approach is not just about finding jobs but empowering individuals to thrive in sustainable employment. By working in tandem with participants, we tailor our services to meet our job seekers’ specific needs, ensuring they reach their employment goals.
“Our team advocate for and support people with disability into employment. That is what we do. We are passionate about building workplaces where everyone, regardless of ability, can thrive. Together, we’re making a positive impact. One day at a time.”
Greg Luck, Chief Executive Officer, AimBig Employment
Today, we also celebrate all our job seekers – people like Aoudrious, who was grappling with significant mental health challenges and was seeking assistance to identify his employment opportunities and navigate his way forward, and has now been employed for over a year – or Nader, who initially faced a mountain of challenges, however now, with his newfound employment, his confidence has soared and he feels a sense of independence.
On this International Day of People with Disability, let’s come together and promote inclusive and sustainable employment and decent work for people with disability.
