Aoudrious is in the drivers seat

Aoudrious met Job Coach Christophe through AimBig Employment Surry Hills in December 2021. At the time, Aoudrious was grappling with significant mental health challenges and was seeking assistance to identify his employment opportunities and navigate his way forward.

In June 2022, Aoudrious took a bold step towards self-employment as a painter. However, unforeseen medical complications became an obstacle, forcing him to set aside his aspirations in painting momentarily. Undeterred, Aoudrious and Job Coach Christophe embarked on a quest for new opportunities. Despite facing numerous rejections during multiple interviews, Aoudrious remained resilient.

In September 2022, Christophe introduced Aoudrious to a self-employment prospect as a driver, which he was keenly interested in. Backed by Christophe’s support, Aoudrious polished his resume and successfully navigated the interview process, proudly assuming his position as a driver in October 2022.

Aoudrious’s journey and perseverance is reflected in his continued self-employment. This month marks an impressive 52 weeks of employment as a driver, with a commitment of 15 hours per week.

Reflecting on his journey, Aoudrious expressed thanks towards Christophe and AimBig Employment for their support:

“I could not be more grateful for having Christophe as my Job Coach. It was not always the best of relationships, but we both adjusted our personalities to make it work.
