At AimBig, our support focuses on breaking down barriers, which those from a different cultural background often includes language and communication.

Our job coaches are connected to these communities, and often come from these backgrounds themselves and speak a second language.

When signing up for services, participants gain access to a range of programs and community organisations to prepare them for employment, aiming to create a seamless process on the job seeker journey. This can include English classes, connecting participants to resource centres, internal programs and more. We have also launched Ask Jeeves – a SMS function which allows participants to communicate with us in their first language so they can access services.

We work with a range of businesses and organisations to build meaningful connections and look for opportunities that meet our participants. We have placed a number of our participants with employers that speak their first language to break down communication barriers to provide the best chance for success.

Hear from Wasan, Area Manager for Western Sydney, about her experiences being from a Chaldean background and working with Chaldean, Assyrian and Arabic participants.
